11:00 a.m. -  2:00 p.m. Verde River Blessing & Celebration. The Upper Verde River, a jewel of the southwest, has been designated as an Outstanding Arizona Water by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. This event celebrates an important step in a series of efforts to protect the Verde. The next step is designation as a Wild and Scenic River. Bring a camp chair, drinking water, and a brown-bag picnic lunch to enjoy on the shady river bank with music by local artists, short educational presentations, a tree planting, and a blessing from a Native American spiritual leader. More info and to register HERE:  LOCATION: Perkinsville Bridge (map and more info at registration link)
