Walt CWAGDr. Walter Kosar hails from the East Coast. He received his Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Rochester.  He worked as a research scientist for 30 years at the French chemical company Arkema Inc., in King of Prussia, PA.  He specialized in polymer membrane applications for water and wastewater treatment.  This work involved helping numerous companies around the world establish best practices for membrane manufacturing and water treatment.  He was an active member of the American Chemical Society (ACS), North American Membrane Society, and the American Waterworks Association. He helped a grass roots organization (Greater Pottstown Watershed Alliance) petition the local government to remove a low head dam in Pottstown, PA, that was damaging nearby wetlands as well as posing a serious safety hazard.

Walt retired in 2023 and moved to Prescott Valley, where he now lives with his wife Mary.  He joined CWAG in 2024 to help support citizen awareness of water issues and future planning for sustainable development.  He enjoys exploring Arizona’s forest trails and scenic attractions.  He remains active as a member of the ACS.
