10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - CWAG General Meeting: Regional Water Issues -- A Broader Perspective. Live and Via Zoom.
Kathryn Sorensen, Director of Research at the Morrison Institute for Public Policy at Arizona State University, is our Feb. 14 speaker. She will come to Prescott for her presentation, so this will be a hybrid meeting, both in person and via Zoom. To attend via Zoom, register HERE. Registration is not required to attend in person.
Kathryn will discuss regional water planning, water conservation, monitoring aquifer levels, Verde River flow, Big Chino pipeline issues, and population growth and legislative issues.
Kathryn Sorensen served for many years as Director of Phoenix Water Services as well as Director of the City of Mesa Water Resources Department. In these roles she was responsible for the delivery of safe, clean, reliable water for millions of Arizonans, and significantly advanced the sustainable management of water resources in Arizona and the Colorado River basin. In her position at Arizona State University, she oversees the research efforts of the Kyl Center for Water Policy, serves as a Professor of Practice at the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions, and contributes to the Global Futures Laboratory.
Kathryn earned a PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Michigan. She currently serves as a board member of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, as a member of the Water & Health Advisory Council, as a Senior Global Futures Scientist at the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory, and as a member of the Colorado River Research Group.
