Why is the proposed Big Chino pipeline so controversial?

Big Chino Pipeline: History and Status

On Saturday, February 8, 2025, the Citizens Water Advocacy Group (CWAG) will host an informational program on the proposed Big Chino Pipeline. For over 20 years Prescott and Prescott Valley have envisioned piping groundwater from the Big Chino Valley to support a vastly increasing population.

CWAG Executive Committee Member, Gary Beverly, will discuss the history and status of the proposed pipeline. Dr. Beverly will explain why the pipeline is so controversial, how much it might cost, who will pay for construction of the pipeline, how the pipeline will impact the upper Verde River and the Paulden-area wells and so much more. Please join us for this important presentation!

This will be a hybrid meeting: in person and on Zoom. To attend via Zoom, please register here (no registration required to attend in person): https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/xrgzqjrgTCe4tGauGBmmzA

To attend in person, join us at the Granite Peak Unitarian Universalist Congregation building at 882 Sunset, Prescott (2 blocks west of True Value). The presentation will start at 10 a.m. There will be coffee and snacks at 9:45 a.m. for informal conversations before the program.
